10Hz – 60MHz Frequency Meter / Counter Kit
This is 60MHz Frequency Meter / Counter for measuring frequency from 10Hz to 60MHz with 10Hz resolution. It is a very useful bench test equipment for testing and finding out the frequency of various devices with unknown frequency such as oscillators, radio receivers, transmitters, function generators, crystals, etc. The meter provides very stable readings and has excellent input sensitivity thanks to onboard amplifier and TTL converter, so it can even measure weak signals from crystal oscillators. With the addition of prescaller it is possible to measure the frequency of 1GHz and above.
LCD display is connected to PCB by 16-PIN male & female header and is easily detachable from the main board. 16-PIN Male Header must be soldered to LCD display. 16-PIN Female Header must be soldered to PCB.
Some components are mounted off board. Use the included pictures and schematic as a guide when mounting these components. One wire link must be made on TOP layer of PCB near BF199 transistor and one on the bottom of PCB.
When meter is powered “50 MHz Counter” message should be displayed on LCD display. A second after meter should be ready to measure the input frequency with “0.000000 MHz” being displayed on the display. If no text is visible adjust the LCD contract by trimming 10K trimpot counter clockwise.
To test the meter connect input terminal (C4) to PIN-15 to measure the frequency of onboard 4.000 MHz crystal. LCD should display 4.000000 MHz value.
